i didnt match and the scramble has been even more disappointing.i gave up and felt watching the world cup was a better option.I think looking at 2008 match is a better option.We guys have abt 6 mths and if we have to get in next match we need to use this time well.Also during this period researching abt programs based on advise of forum members would be a good option.So all in all we have lots to do in the coming months.

I would like to request all of u who didnt match to join in this thread and maybe all of us could help each other out.Also request those who matchedwith h1,prematch,moderators to contribute to this thread.

all the best

  #9

first lets know whether people with 80 scores matched this year??

  #10

hi, i have scores of 87/81..i matched..thanks to God..

  #11

i did not match too. 94/94/pass; all at first attempt, 4 us lors, 9mo observership, over 20 publications..... i believe it goes beyond numbers. ie scores, number of interviews, years since graduation, number of lor's.... it is not a matter of numbers. we are simply DISADVANTAGED by our nationalities so we just need to keep fighting. the game is illusive, with no firm rules, the goal post is always shifted so you really dont know where to shoot your balls. but guess what, let us keep on shooting the balls. we will hit the mark soon enough.

GL all at 2007/2008 match.

Dear Tolito, Im really surprised to c u unmatched. Im sure u stand a good chance in 2008. Apply wisely.

To sum up the scramble,

SCRAMBLE IS A SCAMBLE!

S-------->SHAMELESS

C-------->CHEATING

R--------->RIGGING

A---------->AND

M---------->MANIPULATIVE

B---------->BLATANT

L----------->LYING

E------------> EXCERCISE

Dont lose heart. I was in your place last year.

  #17

I am in tooo,
Hey tolito how come u didn t match whith those scores? How many interviews did you have? Somthing else must have been rong in your aplication .You have great cv......?????
I didn t match , 3 interviews , 92/97/passed, 1 month observership

An by the way white rabbit, I am in US right now but I think not for long considering the great visa I have ....

  #18

i applied for orthopedics and gen surg as a back-up so i did not have great expectations. also my application was missing MSPE and transcript till the last week of the interview period. not much of a surprise my poor outcome. i was still disappointed cos i had doen all the 'right' things like USCE, LORS, publications, i attended seminars and clinics etc, etc, etc. i will try again next match. i am not discouraged. it is not the numbers that matter in the match. it is 'IT'. i pray that we all find 'IT' at the next match. it will happen someday and soon.

I woke up this morning and I got an interviuew from St Barnabas in New yourk.Can anyone tell me something about that program.It is kind of trange that it didn t fill up and it also accepts aplications outside ERAS.????
And it is also in BRONX.

Should I go?

  #20

I am in too. 95/88/pass/need visa.

  #21

Good Luck razvandadu and misty. Now the Question is how badly you want it.

Can you go thro all this again?Do you feel confident you can do better next time?

If your answer is yes then you can go and interview in Barnabas just for experience. If you want the position desperately then try and do your best in the interview.

Good Luck with whatever decision you make

hI all,
82 (2nd attempt)/89/cs pass/82.
Masters in related field form US, 2002 Grad; USCE,Research exp (3yrs), US lors (all), 13 IVS, Matched in first choice.
Please all those who got low scores, don't get disheartened, If I could get in, I am sure u can too. Just have a proactive approach and try to network with as many influencial people as possible. First thing is to get an interview, from there on... ur Social/communiaction skills come in play. Please do mock interviews, take a friend/spouse anyone and ask them to interview you, and practice.

  #23

thx for teh advice skdoc and dis3 smiling face and congrats to both of u

  #24

I am in too. Feeling very sad, disappointed. didn't match. 99/97/pass/step 3 result came in FEB, 1 month observership. Plz suggest me what can I do to improve my CV.

I think the question if you can do better next year has no answer.I ve got the cs results only in january got 3 iv s and didn t match and I am waiting for step 3 results now.
I see here people with great scores and powerful cv s and din t match I don t know what to think anymore.
I guess score doesn t metter something else is important .And I don t know what.
Could anyone help
