I finally gave up this frustrating scramble. Its the worst torture one can face. After hours of endless mailing/ calling / faxing & spending ur hard earned money, the only reply u see in ur inbox is "thanks for ur interest in our prog..sorry however our slots have been filled up. good luk". Its hopeless. I dont mind waiting another year but just praying that I dont have to go through this bullshit scramble again. Ive given up hope. Im hanging up my phone, turning off my fax machine & going to sleep (try to sleep atleast). Good luck.

I feel you all. I have quit for the day but will be back on the phones tommorrow, you have to atleast give it all youve got atleast thats what Ive figured. Just some of my personal frustration of my 4 LORs the strongest one I have I acquired recently (US letter) so it isnt in ERAS so when prgrams see my application its not there. Additionally my USCE is also recent (Last 4 months) so that isnt in the common form, to add to all of this I wasnt in the match because of my scores not being in on time (my fault I admit). Im just saying we all have lots to complain about but theres still a smile on my face....sort of. Good Luck to everybody still in the struggle and Congrats to the rest.

As others had said, for IMG's with visa issues, scramble is a joke. But you can still try, maybe tomorrow will be a better day.

This is not only for people who need visa. I have the same feeling here as well. I don't need visa, I am a permanent resident. I live in US. I will be US Citizen within 3 months. I have applied to ALL Categorical IM today immediately after they released the stupid list. Tried to call all of them, but I have not heard anything back from even ONE program. Nothing. No email or phone call. My phone didn't ring and my inbox didn't ding. This is absolutely ridiculous and frustrating. Why they just don't say WE DON'T ACCEPT IMGs? That will be much easier for us to accept than going through all these expenses and hassle. One of my friends had 16 programs in his ROL and did not match ! Other with 6 programs in ROL and ONE YEAR INTERNSHIP in US also did not match. This is absolutely nonsense. Now we think we are applying to programs. No, we are just setting to download the updated list every hour and just watch the positions are getting filled. By whom? only by PD's, PC's, Faculty's and .....'s friends and relatives. Guys, for next year match, instead of looking for USCE (US CCLINICAL EXPERIENCE), look for USCC (US CLINICAL CONNECTIONS). That is all they need. They don't need our knowledge, they don't care how hard we will work for them for only $10 an hour. Just know somebody who knows somebody. THAT IS IT.

Same story but i had major dings in my case..My step 2 CS score did not get transmitted as said by ECFMG AND nrmp that they do so internally sometimes......I guess they just want to make money by making as many candidates apply as possible I was in the scarmble for the longest shot..... But i learned a very important lesson today... In the MATCH apply to a lot of programs , try to get as many IV as possible and ACCEPT PREMATCH if given and cosider premi positions also... So everyone lets gear up, MATCH is not far away. GL to all of us.

WR. When did you begin to send in your applications. From what I have found out, the first week of september makes a huge difference. Some people will say that late sept. is okay, but in my opinion, with each week that passes by, your chances for max. # of interviews decreases by 10% or more.

CONNECTION does matter in the US. It's not about what you know, but more about WHO you know.

Who thinks that pgram coordinators read their e mail?I spoke whith one today who said that she has more than 300 e mails in her mail boxI was tring to ask her to read my e mail because for some reason she didn t get my eras aplication.(another mistery for me).All the masseage boxes were full who listens to them.

Looking at the all the e-mails going back and forth, all of us as a community should start demanding ERAS and NRMP to provide us with statistics and I would even go to the extent of saying that NRMP give out the program rating to candidates to so that we as candidates can ensure that they are not discriminating behind the scenes. Does anyone have suggestion on how this can be pursued? I keep wondering why it takes NRMP so long to match when the match closes in Feb. Maybe they look and "Adjust" the results before sending them out. I also think that they should stop this post-match scramble and let positions go unfulfilled - this will put more presure on the programs to interview and rate more candidates.

Hi Guys I understand the frustation. Been there and done that. The only thing I can add is dont lose hope. Positions open up even later. Its just matter of luck. I called few places for my friend but all of them wanted people with no visas. They are at best advantage in the scramble. Try again, dont lose hope....

We dont have other choice I guess..... We are given the opportunity to be amongst the elite class in the society but all the hard work and frustation behind it, only we know who are going through it. Tons of money, time, family time, visa issues everything takes a toll on you...... I bet its not even 1/3rd as hard for AMG"S, except that we IMG'S are taking away few of their seats. On scramble day Fax seems like a big joke...why do the prog even say that send ur docs by Fax.....no service even efax cant get thru coz the bottleneck is the source receiving it. That only with one fax number for thousands of expected fax that day !! On this day with highly overloaded fax and phone lines, it seems like a thing from stoneage. Anyways what can we do about it ....... Really NRMP etc should make one universal way of communication b/w candidates and programs by ERAS..... Next time i am thinking it would be better if I run to the nearest program in the city and hand them my docs by hand ...that would save me more time !!!!!!
