could any body tell how competitive psych is so depressed th my step 1 score 80+ m interested only in psychiatry. thanks in advance

is it 81 or 89? what is your score on S2? how many attemots? Psych programs invite applicants and rank them based not only (and not primarily) on scores! So a little bit more info would be helpful if you want a more specific answer

good luck with S2, drpawan, and try to get as high a score on S2 as possible, but remember, scores will HELP, but will not necessarily get you a residency spot. As you might have noticed on other threads, people with stellar scores sometimes go unmatched. Make sure that you show, through your professional experience, in your PS and CV, through your volunteer experience, your LORs and during the interviews, WHY you want to do Psychiatry and what is your commitment to the field of Psychiatry. That is what they are mostly looking for.
