family medicine and indeed all the primary care specialities are getting more competitive...

this year though, they were less positions for family med and more applicants...i am afraid the competition is stiffening...

The programs will say that every year is becoming more competitive, and I agree with them. Nothing much you can do other than trying to improve your application and iv skills. The competitive scores will vary. Obviously the higher the better (especially to get an interview), but for the actual ranking it'll take alot more. As you'll notice it seems that there are lots of people who got scores in the 90's and didn't match. I think they really care about personality and prior experience/resume
