According to Kaplan Lectures, plantar fasciitis needs symptomatic treatment until it resolves spontaneously within 12 to 18 months.

NSAID +/- methyprednisolone topical injection ( 1 dose only because can cause local fat pad atrophy and rupture of plantar fascia)

electo corporal shock wavetherapy is also used..
