Why cant we find out where we matched today itself...why does the system make us wait for 2 days? how does it matter?

I think it's to slowly drive applicants and programs crazy. Why do applicants find out a day before programs? Why do I have to wait until tomorrow to find out if I am one of the 78 IM spots????
Argh!
