a 40 Yr old female taking Phenelzine for her depression. She come for regular check up and ask that is it possible to take fluoxetine instead of phenelzine as a treatment of her depression. When the physician shud start Fluoxetine
A- 2 wks after stopping Phenelzine
B-4 wks after stpping phenelzine
C-6 wks after stopping Phenelzine
D-Decreasing the dose of Phenelzine and start Fluoxetine same time
E-Start Fluoxetine with the same dose of Phenelzine taking b4

In switching from one group to another, an adequate "washout time" must be allowed. This is critical in certain situations—eg, in switching from an MAO inhibitor to a TCA, allow 2–3 weeks between stopping one drug and starting another; in switching from an SSRI to an MAO inhibitor, allow 4–5 weeks. cmdt.
