while intoxicated,a young man falls through a store-front-plate-glass window,severely lacerating his left wrist.in the emergency room,the physician assesses the integrity of the ulnar nerve at the wrist by asking the patient to perform which one of the following maneuvers?
1) oppose the thumb and little finger
2) abduct the little finger
3) flex the little finger
4) adduct the thumb

The ulnar nerve and its branches innervate the following muscles in the forearm and hand:

* In the forearm, via the muscular branches of ulnar nerve:
o Flexor carpi ulnaris
o Flexor digitorum profundus (medial half)

* In the hand, via the deep branch of ulnar nerve:
o hypothenar muscles
+ Opponens digiti minimi
+ Abductor digiti minimi
+ Flexor digiti minimi brevis
o Adductor pollicis
o The third and fourth lumbrical muscles
o Dorsal interossei
o Palmar interossei

* In the hand, via the superficial branch of ulnar nerve:
o Palmaris brevis

do you know latin? if your flexors are intact (forearm ulnar nerve or median nerve), you'll be able to flex your pinkie. however you won't be able to abduct it!

well as this injury has occured at wrist his flexion wont be affected but abduction n adduction will be...if this injury had occured at elbow then weakened flexion would be present so d vr is kinda right....do u speak latin or u attended ur anatomy class in latingrin

level doesn't matter
adduct or abduct of little finger--- ulnar
