first what can be produced in response to Ag is IgM, only.
Than it switching.
Even in acute case of anaphylaxis.
This is bcs of the sequential transcription of the DNA coding for the Ig isotype genes.
It is not possible for any other Ig to be made first.

i agree that IgM is produced 1st but if there is anaphylaxis it means that there was prior sensitization and IgE is already attached to the mast cell? i don't know just a thought.

Yup IgM is the one Ig which will emdiate teh sensitiztion of IgE on B cells for the next anaphalctic reaction. SO they asked abt the first time the Antigen was introduced.
