Hello everyone, I am going for scramble this year coz i am still waiting for step 2 cs result and hoping it will be transmitted to NRMP by scramble day. As a requirement for scramble i applied to few programs just last week, i did not have a rank order list also and i have recd e mail that I have been withdrawn and after that i can see some programs have downloaded my application. I want to know: 1. What does it indicate that they have downloaded my application so late in the process....does it mean they are interested ? 2. Can I contact these programs before tues march 12th or will the programs contact me on Mon march 12th and only then i can contact them on Tuesday 12th march ?? Really need to know the answers for these Q's Thank you.

1. If they down load your application, it means that they downloaded every application, updated USMLE reports/ECFMG report that ERAS has sent to us. We have to accept every document or no documents. 2. YOU CANNOT CONTACT PROGRAMS BEFORE TUESDAY (Yes, I was yelling, but not screaming). We don't know anything before then. When applicants contact me on Monday when they know that they didn't match, that's when I get evil, mean and nasty.

Dear BBB; Could you please explain the scramble day activity at your program? There are so many unknowns about this activity. It would be nice to hear your side of the process? Do you pay attention to faxes arriving? Or do you only deal with candidates who are able to reach you over the phone on post match day? There are some companies who are willing to service (basically fax our documents) for a fee. They also keep a similar database as in ERAS until July 1st for ptogram manager who still have some openings. Do you use this type of websites if you still have an unfilled position? Thanks for help.

If I had an open position, applications would have to come through ERAS, not fax. That is the option that we indicated we would use. Applicants who did contact me via telephone would be told to apply through ERAS. Applicants who call me when I don't have openings are gently told that we don't have openings and that they should check NRMP for programs with openings. Applicants that contact me before they should don't get the nice BBB - they get the evil one. I think that she's more fun, but that isn't going to help you. I've never used a commercial company - there isn't a need to - lots of applicants out there. Good luck.
