When are the interviews generally?

Hi all,

new to the forum, am going to be applying for the Match 2008.
Just planning my life ahead for the next couple of months and was wondering :

When are the interviews generally - am gonna have to take unpaid leave for that time sad

would really appreciate a response.

hi,

interviews start in october and go on to jan and even early feb. its also specialty and uni vs community program dependent so scout around in freida online for programs of interest and look at their iv schedule. you'll get a god idea.

there's mixed opinion on whether early or late ivs are good. i think the consensus is that you can iv at anytime and yr chances for matching are the same, but prematch may be easier for earlier interviews.

Though does that mean you have no choice about when the interviews are; or do you get to choose when you see them?

some hospitals let you choose among several dates and others give you only 1 date. It varies. But usually you have the chance to schedule them well, with chronologically and geographically order.
