deep vein thrombosis
hyper coaguble state of pregnancy

hypergoagulable state looks like precipitating event, but Pt gave birth and now she is not pregnant any more, and symptoms are local --> must be thrombus, D looks more attractive to me
please correct me in my reasoning if i am wrong

This is a classic case of purpueral thromboplebitis( or phlegmasia alba dolens--milk leg) + Homan sign positive + calf pain+ not ambulating after delivery---->DVT

Hypercoagulable state of pregnancy, doesnt get reversed immediately after delivery,It takes almost 4 weeks for the incidence of T.E to decrease, and thatz y we dont give combination pills or estrogen alone OCP, for just postpartum NONLACTATING ladies..coz the chances for them to go into T.E is high..and that is the reason Porgestin only pills are given to those nonlactating/LACTATING females rt after the day of discharge from the hospital, as its the estogen who is the culprit behind T.E and not progestrone.
And such cases shld NOT be missed, as PUL.embolism is the MCC of maternal mortality in USA.

So I go for DVT--->A--->as it is common 3 days after P.partum

Refer kaplan Ob gyne for details..
