I did not register nor enroll in NRMP. But, I did apply to several programs with no IV's, part of the reason why I didn't register with NRMP.
My question, Is it a violation if I obtain the list through a different source on scramble day?
Or just cold call programs who have consistently been on the unfilled list in previous years.
I just want to clarify if the rules state that I must have registered with the match before scrambling.
any advice would be appreciated

Yes its a violation to get the list if you are not registered with NRMP......even if I did not get any IVs I would ahve still registered with the NRMP just to get the list legally I mean it just costs like 40$ to register no biggie when you have spent like thousands on trhe ECFMG exams. Anyways now you could hope to do what you say is cold call the programs that did not match in the last two years or hope that a really really close friend risks getting banned rom NRMP and hands you the PDF file of the unmatched list....good luck with that,,,,,

you can call programs and find out. Its just you cant share the list.

I've been around this forum long enough to know if someone is being sarcastic.. makes no difference to me. I chalk it up to nerves i guess and just cut them some slack. I will just cold call or look at trends of programs that repeatedly didnt fill for the past couple of years and base my application selection on that. What have i got to lose. Violation and Illegal are two words dont sit well with me, i'll go through the proper channels but won't risk anything. Thanks for the positive shout outs. dr.kid and dev
