The wife of a 45-year- old executive says that over the past 6 months her husband has been accusing her of having an extramarital affair.he has been phoning her work place,checking her mail and phone calls.she says that there is absolutely no truth to the allegation,but despite the efforts of herself and his family to reassure him,he continues to accuse her.which one of the following is likely cause?
1) delusional disorder
2) paranoid schizophrenia
3) anxiety disorder
4) antisocial personality disorder
5) schizoid personality disorder

This is purely delusional..since he is involved in an extramarital affair, he strongly belives that his wife is also following his foot steps.. mad

Delusions are FIXED FALSE belief, not shared by others, other than this,this guy has no other psychiatric s/s------->So I go for 1)

2. For 6 months and has symptoms of paranoia.

delusion in delusional disorder is quite reasonable, but delusion in schizophrenia is much eccentric. And there is no hallucination in this case, so answer is 1.

the deluison is not bizarre, in addition there's no other psychotic disorers..... so I go with #1
