From the way he is talking, I don't think he'll be a scientist in the future. He's a poor boy of schizophrania with magical thinking. He is just verbally early developed. Anyway, GL to this "genius".

There´s a saying "Brightness stands at the border with insanity". He has too much confidence and sometimes sounds "cocky". But anyways, this kid has his dreams and is very eager making it come true. May this serves us as inspiration to keep ourselves going on. As he said at the end that no matter how long it will take, but he will do it.

This kid learns from his mistake , has a high dreams & wants to purse his dreams for 10 or 20 or more years. he knows up & down is part of life but one has to go on.he feels for others & also wants to do something about it. He is yet to learn many things but as he is young, I hope that he will acquire those qualities in future even a failure of great attempt is no less great, yes he did inspired me.

I think he is a genius, he is able to assimilate all his info. Lucky for us, he did not declare himself to be a god man.

the kid is a genius. he seems to have a phenomenal fund of knowledge for a kid at age 7. but he seems to fantasise that he will b able to develop a cure for cancer. had he been smart enuf to say i want to bcome a doc - and then learnt the tricks of the trade of research along the way - i have no doubt he wud have bcome a star. but he seems to a victim of his own expectations. talkin about dna motifs and cell membranes at age makes u a genius, but doenst come close to findin a cure for cancer.. but then he has a weapon which all of us lack - time.. if i were him - id grab a nice cush masters or phd at a western country on a scholarship - then do med school here - followed by a neurosurg / ortho residency - earn big bucks - marry some1 nice - njoi life - and let cancer be.. but then i will never win the nobel

I think there are few mistakes - the approach taught by his parents to the kid is somewhat misleading..reading only medical books and directly asking for the research funding or Lab... -2nd Mistake is applying to the Country like UK where Not much encouragement is been given to the people from rest of the world.NOT an EOE.(But the Video is made in such a plan that no one says it.by askin a person from same country to judge him).. But I still Could NOT be able to figure out why did they test his IQ again in UK. Apurva approach - applying for the PhD in US would have prevented in from great troubles.....and so much discouragment.... But it was me speaking....

I felt that the indian Doc was very sarcastic on the interview. Was it because he did nt want the young kid to steal the limelight. The main issue is his talen should be tapped in the right way, he should be put in a intelectually stimulating environment and I am sure he will achieve sometihng great in life. Easier way to make money is to go to Las Vegas and ur ur memory skills for gambling. You can make much more than any doc.

i strongly agree with reliable26.yes his parents have misguided to a certain extent,so over all development of the child is deficient in few areas and very high in few. hes just a little boy,so he is egocentric.lacks mature and wise thinking, but has the passion to dream and has burning desire.i believe thats how great scientists were but many a times they were rediculed by the so called wise people, calling them insane. i also agree that u.k is a biased country.u.s would have been a better country instead.i feel i.q test is just crap.

I dunno ...i dont like hearing ppl that are so full of themselves...obviously this is a very bright kid...but c'mon....this "cure every disease"....is somethin absoutely no doctor would say....this is a kid talking..a smart kid with a bunch of books..... "i JUST want to cure aids, cancer and be the youngest nobel prize recipient".... i would love to see this kid in 15 years with formal education doing amazing things....but right now...let's say i think media can make anything look as good or as bad they want is interesting how this is the first so called genius video ive seen in which the subject takes himself so seriously...havent u noticed how virtually every genius takes him/herself very lightly...i think that feature alone is really a big part of being gifted and their personalities...the ability to maintain a low profile, or even to avoid exposure...see any daniel tammet clip and ull see how a true genius behaves and conducts himself....and historically this has been true for many other gifted individuals....i know a little pretention never kiled anyone...but even when he;s asked about his dad not being around he looks like he doesnt want to admit something actually went wrong or against him..... i bet it is all the ppl around him telling him to "cure aids now!!..ppl are dying!" what fosters this behavior....he should get a reality dose once he goes to the us and start doing things sistematically...instead of performing rural surgery with no guidelines other than a book.

UK would be the worst place for any genius but a good place for "workers". had he been american he'd would have done so much by now im sure. america is much better than Uk but still its not 100% bias free

Ppl whether his parents have misguided him or if he is an egocenteric, He is atleast doing wht he blieves in he has the determination to go for it n not succumb to the harsh intracacies of life n reality. I do believe one thing atleast he is dreaming to do something for humanity whilst we r worried how we r going to get our next meal. Wht actually amazed me was that the Parents adopted to his hunger for learning very well n such parents r a rarity in the backdoors of Any South Asian country where parents have the presence of mind to realise that they have a genious amongst them. As Pappi ( Goljan) wud say " Appreciate the little Dude" n APurva is right we dont get Nobels or get to change the course of History just by thinking abt it.

very impressive...it will be interesting to see where he ends up... i do have a question for him though: how is he going to target the cancer cells and change the genome without jeopodising viable tissue?

I think it was a great show! I dont know what to expect in the future but his motivation seems something many of us lack...but then again he is just a kid.... when I was his age I had crazy dreams of my own, we all had. However with the proper mentors (like the docs from Imperial College) I think he will really become someone important... I say: Good luck.

agree with Medusin, let's hope (for the humankind wellness and health) he becomes someone important in the medical history and gets some important discoveries. But right now it's too soon to say, really. There must be many very intelligent, creative and experienced doctors, scientifics and perhaps a couple of folks who've got nobel prizes right now working around the world, trying to get the same thing this kid wants to. ANY of them could make it. by the way: I like your comment my brother Apurva.

guys, research in cancer is way ahead. so may be cure is one the way. lets just follow him up in few years. he is still a kid. for blizkenobe, its all the realm of targeted therapy in cancer now. with new discoveries like RNAi new things are being discovered. apurva i agree with u on PHD but not on earning money. that should not be an end point in ones career.
