Hey! help me figure this out... I red that the spleen was considered a peritoneal organ, but... it fuses epithelial with the wall of mesoderm, and undergoes secondary retroperitonealization? Am i right?? so if that statement is true, it would be retroperitoneal? please explain

spleen is NOT a retroperitoneal organ.. Only a part of its mesentery undergoes fusion wth the parietal mesoderm.. That means the proximal part of splenic artery (contained in the fused mesentery) becomes retroperitoneal.. The spleen is enclosed in visceral peritoneum n suspended frm abd wall (parietal perit) by lienorenal ligament.

thanks indidoc1 you are right is only splenic artery and vein that reach the spleen by traversing the splenorenal ligament, that used to be mesentery (dorsal portion) and fuses the parietal layer. It is in Kaplan anatomy notes
