Hi,
I am or will soon be a foreign medical grad. I just got my scores for step 2ck today and got a 175!!!! This is horrible!!!
I am wondering if I can get some guidance....it seems what I studied for the step 1 didn't work for the step 2. I studied for about three months...read 2 or 3hrs p/d with 1timed qblock p/day. I read FA, boards and wards, and step up three times each along with buzzwords and did 80% of qbank at 56% overall, and 75% usmle world at 53% overall and got a 167 a month and half before my exam and a 196 two weeks before my exam.....AND I FAILED!!!
Should I use different books? What should I do? I did alot of questions(4700) I don't think that was the prob. I never ran out of time on the real exam...answered all the questions...I was just blown away how alot of questions were not in any of the three books I studied.

p.s.- When I start the fifthpathway in June we will be given a prepcourse called the passprogram.....does that help???

SORRY....the 167 and 196 are NBME equivalent scores!

p.s.: are the kaplan lectures worth doing...I have read alot of comments on how good they are.....if so....does anyone have any links to get them??

Sorry to hear that.
Most people in this forum use Kaplan lecture notes for their preparation.
Also take note for most questions they did.
And finally use review book like FA or Crush for final review.
You did lots of questions, did you take note when you did it? especially when you did incorrectly.
Anyway, never give up, try again, and be active to discuss with people in this people, you will learn a lot.

Donot loose hope .This is not end of the world for you.
So NBME score of 430 -440 did not correlate with your real exam score???I guess you got much lower than NBME score???
Donot worry muster up courage and start your prep again.I donot think pass program is considered as good as Kaplan by everybody .I would suggest kaplan for prep and do usmle world plus crush step 2 and first aid for step 2 ck.Study atleast 4 months thoroughly each subject before you go for an exam.Hopefully you will get a great score next time.

I will start studying again I guess thats all I can do and this time I will take notes on the incorrect questions, I didn´t do that last time.
