The measles and mumps vaccines are made from chick embryo fibroblast tissue, but are still recommended for children with egg allergies because they contain only small amounts of egg cross-reacting proteins and therefore, are low risk for anaphylactic reactions. Children with egg allergies should be given the MMR vaccine.
