From kaplan, BRS, under cell components Lateral surface specializations has 3? or 4 types?, pl help & explain. 1. tight junction[Zonula Occludens] 2.Zonula Adherens same as desmozone[M.A] or not , OR desmozone [macula adherens]is 3. or just 2.under Z.A. Also which one is adheren junction...?Z.A or ? desmosome, then Gap junctionis 3. or 4. catagory. Sorry folks, it has been bothersome for a while. Thanks for any responses. GL in study

Please refer FA 2006, Musculoskeletal Anatomy, p# 313. Topic : Epithelial cell junctions. It has all the answer we need in this regard I suppose. Let us know.

Rock, Thanks for the quick response. Guess after all kap book, Fa has same 4 types, just BRS put it in 3 together then gap junction is another one,but all still under lat. surface. In DVD kap kind of he talks not clear, but I will take it as 4, cause kap notes, Fa all say 4 types indirectly. I leave FA as last to read so have not run into it yet. Thanks rock. GL, happy study

u should just know their functions, imp sites n how to identify on EMs.. Forget abt how many categories r there.
