How much does H1 b visa processing cost??

Does the amount of $2500 ( including $1000 for premium processing) sound familiar... I have not seen the invoice but am expecting around 2500 to be paid by me... one of my friends said it is double then expected ... All I know so far is that my hospital will pay some fee and I will pay some amount + the premium processing ( which I have requested)

Does anyone know the figure for visa processing in general.

( and yes I know legally we dont pay)

hi moozy,

this is the info i was given

$1500 DD to yr sponsoring institution that includes $500 fraud detection and

prevention fee

$190 for I 129 processing

$ 200 for I-539processing for dependents, if applicable

$1000 for premium processing

my seniors said that attorney fees is extra, not sure how much...if anyone knows,

please post the info, i'm curious about it.

hope this helps!

oh and i remember vaguely that the institution might do I-129 on yr behalf (i.e. you

might not need to pay for it). but please check, this is from my rusty memory.

as per my source-2500$ without premium
approx
3500$ with premium processing
This is all inclusive cost-including attorney fees
some portals are cheaper

Hi All,
Thanks for the Q & A, good to know ahead, so you'll & can prep & save for the money for the visa.

Thank you, thank you.

Do you mind tell us which hospital, program, speciality are IMG & H1 visa friendly???

Also what kind of visa should it be for your partner also IMG , but will not ready for same yr match as you, when you are looking for or getting H1 visa??

Thanks in advanced.

GL & best wishes in your residencynodnodnod

My hospitals H1B costs are approximately $2600. Costs MUST BE PAID FOR BUY THE SPONSORING INSTITUTION. If your hospital is asking you to pay for it, they are breaking federal law.

well bbb i think some programs made me sign that if matched i will pay the fees. most of my friends did pay their h1 fee.

  #10

or maybe it was that i have to pay for premium processing only.

Yes, most of the program that I interviewed there, showed me a paper that they don't pay for H-1 visa cost.

agree with amirhossein.. infact, i remmeber while I was doing the search about visas, quite a few H1 sponsoring programs mentioned in their criteria that if matched, the resident will bear the costs of H1B visa..

My attorney told me that my hospital will pay the legal fee and I will pay the filing fee and premium processing fee.. I am not sure what I-129 or 539 are but I will have to pay filing fee around $1500 and then I asked the attorney that I want premium processing which ofcourse added another $1000 to the figure .......I guess every program will have different policies... some may pay all the H1 processing fee, some may part of the fee ( like my program), some may make you pay all of it..

At the end of the day, people who wanted H1, will be happy paying this sort of fee....because of the reason all of us know smiling face

Dear BBB,
Thanks for brings the payment up. Wish we all are lucky in your program or similar.
Where will it be? I am very new to USA. grin
All my friends in past few yrs ago since, said though it is not usual way[ legal], they all did pay by themselves in term of request/ remind by the program , instead of paid by the program/hospital. But I did not ask how much or juts portion or all they paid. For sure lawyer fees they did pay by themselves.

What is all the fees, termanology likes premium, & all the forms ???
Can any one please tell the pocedure of H1, where to get what & when for H1 visa in detail with , explaination of the termanoly & forms need to fill.

Thank you in advanced,
Regards,

im interested in this topic as well and i actually have that same question......im going to NY and will apply for H1b too and one thing it remained unclear to me is whether the visa paperwork should be started after or before the state license...i have read in other posts that you should start the license papaerwork first and then the h1b process but one of the requisites for the license, as posted on po.nysed.gov is to be a "alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United States "...so does this mean u have to do the visa issue before?.....i would like to hear someone that has gone through this post his experience...thank you!!!

for licesne.. I just filled in the forms given to me by the PC and sent it.. got licesne in 35 days,, I dont know about whats written in governemental websites....

Dont look around for problems, keep it simple and do what is required..... and we all know that people who will work on J1 will be licesnsed but not permanent residents in US at the time of their residencies/fellowships.
