It's a socalized medical system and very underfunded. If you are used to a US hospital, it'll be a shock to the system. As a foreign doctor, you'll have to do an internship in the middle of no where (don't even think about getting one in Sydney, Melbourne, etc) . The Aussies have a british style of training. The first year will be a general intern year (IM, surg, ob/gyn, peds, psych, general practice). The hours are good, but you'll be in training for a lot longer than in the US.

dont u have "doctors guide to overseas training" get it it explained all the process in australia/ new zeland & other countries
