another Q? on candida , we always hear about candida in females. It is after all a sexually transmitted disease even though it can also occur in immunocompromised hosts due to hiv or broad spectrum antibiotic therapy etc. what are features of candida in males

Candida is not strictly an STD. Common causes are pregnancy, diabetics, antibiotic use in females. in males can present as Balanoposthitis

the dimorphism of Candida albicans is somewhat different in that the organism transforms from a budding yeast-like structures (blastoconidia) to filamentous structures known as germ tubes

Its not that clear, but it seems like it starts as a budding yeast at 25 to 37degrees C.on simple media. The psuedohyphae can form in special media or tissue. Once again acording to Harrisons 14th edition page1154- C.albicans can be identifiedby its ability to form germ tubes in serum or bythe formation of thick walled spores called chlamydospores,Final identification of all species of Candida require biochemical tests. Also looking at my Kaplan notes I wrote in psuedospore or chlamydospore next to candida (asexual form)
