"Britain has decided not to apply its new immigration law for now which comes as a relief for Indian doctors in the UK.
The decision allows up to 12,000 Indian applicants eligible for recruitment in the National Health Service this year.
A shortlist of candidates will be announced on Monday and interviews will take place in the first week of March.
During this time all doctors irrespective of their country of origin will be kept in abeyance and all doctors will be treated equally during the shorlisting of applicants. "

good news...
but shortlisting has already been done.. it will just be announced tomorrow.... my consultansts in UK do not seem to know about any new laws neither do the medical staffing... so even for simple trust SHO jobs beinbg advertised nowadays... they are not shortlisting ppl who need any visa or whose visa does not cover the duration of job ( even HSMP)
I guess the scenario will not be very different, as the application requests of UK/EU will be seen by shortlisting panel first.. and the first round of shortlisting will take place.. it is in the second round that may be foreign graduates will stand a chance.... saying all that.... this news is still a aray of hope for a lot because atleast now you know that U CAN BE considered... unlike previously.
