A question in UW surgery, CT with contrast is the best choice for solid organ injury.

I also remember that CT without contrast is the 1st test for suspected stroke to rule out hemorrhage.

My question is why it's different for these 2 scenary.

CT without contrast is helpful for hemorrhage or other liquid like pus.
CT with contrast is helpful for solid mass like tumor.
