hi jana
thanks for dropping by, was kind of feeling all alone in this step 2 prep, 
i am reading FA 5 edition which i bought in jan or feb 2007 i think,
i do not know about the latest edition , must have come out recently ??
the one i have is pretty good for reviewing quickly though i didnt like cvs and reviewed it from B and w where its really superb, atleast for me.
okay so after many short naps and 3 cups of tea i finished CVS, gosh, some days r just slowwwwwwww
okay now i am fresh and ready to rock,
i will strat genetics...

Hi doc08--Good going buddy! Why are you thinking youa re all alone!! I am there always with something or the other ..Well , I have to give my CK in August second week--No other go! I have finished Medicine-reading twice and PEDS rewading once.Do you think is it possible to finish all other subjects + UW +revision in 2 months? Tough job right?

finished FA second read peds,
feel like i have done something so far
next UW questions, i wont do peds , fed up of reading it, so i will do med q,,,,
hey sprint, so glad u r back on the scene,
u r always welcome to write in my journal, if we can push each other to study harder then the journey will be less painful,
i really feel u can give exam in aug 2 nd week, still 2 months left, but u will have to put in a lot of hours,
i am also pressured for time, as i have more than half of UW left which is eating all my time, i have to give exam mid july no other go !!!!
we just have to study harder, thats the only way,,,
also from what i have heard we can apply for 2008 match up until dec 31, BUT if we want maximum number of interviews then we have to be ready with ecfmg certificate by sep 1st,
so thats our goal, we can do it !!!!!!!

yesterday started with FA hepatogy, but later wasted lot of time as i had to run some errands, could not avoid it,
today doing hepatology qs from UW, with FA , KN in between

hi doc08,
i have been following your journal for quite a while now.though i did'nt post anything before.
i liked your study pace. and also because even i have my exam in the mid july. and i have to give it by then for sure.
i doing my third reading now. and i also decided to follow first aid.
i wanted to ask how you are accomodating firstaid and the kaplan notes and then the uw also.i really fall short of time by the end of the day and then the back log is carrying on to the next day.do u have any timetable planned for the next 3-4 weeks? i still have abt 30%of the uw to finish also.your feedback will really be appreciated doc08.

emergency medicine from kaplan notes and first aid.
renal from first aid.
cvs from kaplan notes
+ i block uw qs.

welcome to the journal,
i try to read FA first and then do corresponding UW and then i try to do kaplan notes later only on the topics where i need to strengthen my concepts,
but somedays i cant finish my target and i lag behind,
i am very bad with timetables, as u can see from my journal, timetables gives me tremors, and i never follow it,never have
so i dont have one right now, i am trying to study as much as i can,once i finish UW i will make one for the last revision
you are welcome to write here anytime, u can write everyday so we can study together and encourage each other to achieve our targets
okay yesterday was doing good with UW mcqs when i succumbed to the temptation of watching 2 movies !!!!!
so bad , with only 4 weeks to the exam !!!,
anyway i acccepted that i am only human, and i will forget what happened, , and move on
today is a fresh day, i have already started UW and done with 10 expla already
todays target
okay i will achieve my target for today and then write it...

hey doc 08 thanks for replying.
and iam glad too, to join ur journal.
yes even iam bad at timetables, i make one almost everyother day.
yesterday as usual i was only able to complete only 3/4 of my target.
so i have kept one day next week to complete my back logs, before i start off with another subject.
hey good thing that u watched a movie.it gives a good break , and then u feel refreshed to start all over again. even i do that sometimes.
so i will hopefully write in ur journal everyday.
for today my targets are:
cns from kaplan notes n firstaid.
derm from kaplan notes n firstaid.
and then the misc topics at the end. and then ofcourse,qs.
lets seee.
good studying!!!

its a fresh day, great day to begin studies,
so far finished 36 exp from surgery UW,, will continue and finish as many qs as possible today, might add some FA and KN review , lets see
nokia- i hope u were able to finish yesterdays target,,, how is it going today?

hi guys,
this is maha, and iam also signed in as nokia75. i don't remember how i landed up with two ids. when i log in from my laptop i have this id maha, and when i log in from the desktop i have that nokia , so guys sorry for the confusion i will try to post messages as much as possible from a single id.so today i had kept for my back logs. hopfully i will be done with it by the time i sleep.tomorrow iam going to start with peds. shaina i have my exam in the last week of july , i think thats after 1 week of doc08 exam ? iam not sure.when is urs?so roughly i have 5 weeks.and i plan to give to give the nbme before the end of this month.so after that i will be starting with my final review concentrating only on the weak areas, and also usmleworld explanations.so how are u guys studying with the uw. i did those qs, in mixed mode, and i got just average scores. and lot of fluctuations. so i will know where iam only after giving nbme.doc08 best of luck with ur cs exam. i think its on the 25. just stay calm and you will remember to ask everything. i wanted to ask how are u guys revising the uw, do u guys do those qs again or just read the explanations of the old tests ?iam reading just the explanations, coz when i try to do them again, i remember the choices and i don't even have to read the question.and i guess then u get an error in ur score.so instead iam just reading the explanations of all the tests.and man its taking so much of a time,its like forever.so ok then thats all for tonight,see u all tomorrow.

so what did u guys do today ? as for myself ,
today i started with peds., finished IM sort of but i think i need to do one more time review before i give the nbme.hopefully by the end of this month.
so shaina even i have my exam in the last week of july.
so when will you be starting ur final review ? have u given any nbme forms ?
so doc08 where are u today ? hope everything is going well.

i did finish UW notes 7pm-9pm ,tomorow will finish UW hepat q's. have to start rheumat next.
have to finish IM,peds surg by next week,then july begin with psy,obgy. will have to take nbme before revising these 2. but my gut feeling says i shud tak eNBME after i revise these 2in 3 days. but i have been so relaxed never stick to my plan.
oppertunity might just knock once,temptation leans on door bell
hopefully i stand firm now,once again in my life.wish i do and jsut get over with monster

i feel so good to have such nice buddies
i missed u all too !!!!
i had to take this unexpected trip yesterday , i could not avoid it, , but i took my surgery notes and tried to study while travelling, covered little bit of notes, but still time got wasted.
i am back and i am raring to go, i have to compensate for the lost time, so today i am going to have breakfast lunch dinner along with my books !!!!!!!
shaina- 19 july is ur exam right, definately take NBME before the real exam, quickly revise psy and obg also before nbme,happy reading
maha75 and nokia75 r one and the same!!!!!!, u got me there maha,, i am done with cs, i think u got me confused with doc_08, i think i will read only explainations from UW second time round, but i am also thinking of doing 3 blocks at a time to get into exam mode, after i finish my first round, not sure , lets see
jana- u r done with UW, that’s so great, what ur next game plan for revision? pls share with me

only revised 1 chapter in surgery, and read explainations for 37 UW q today , i probably read only 5- 6 hrs today, thats all, had lot of distractions also.
how i wish i can just vanish , no one knows where i went or just time stops at this moment , everything is still and i quickly read ,write my exam and everything jump starts again, and i get back to my normal life,
okay that aint gonna happen 
have to put in more hrs from tommorow
very worried how i will take exam in july with such snail's pace
i will fight back tommorow, and will try to cover more than what i did today
never give up !!!!!!!

hey hi doc08
i read ur post and felt a bit relieved , thinking iam not the only one wasting time around with less than 4 weeks to go. i have been wasting the last two days just like that.i don't know whats happened to me, maybe lots of distractions just in my mind, no concentration, i feel iam just too anxoius to study, feel like i don't know anything. i have left only two days to complete peds. before starting with surgery. will two be enough if i put in like atleast 12 hrs a day ? i just hope so.
i started early today and did only one block uw , i still have the explanations, which i think i will be revising in the night, so i have like atleast 12 hrs from now for the day, i hope i get done with my target. wish i cud get some sort of a boost, don't know what to do to get that ??? thinking abt how near the exam is....is just getting me more nervous.
can somebody share their timetable for the last 4 weeks ?
anyway lets start the day now. i will post again in the night saying how much i have accomplished for the day.
