What is the exact cause for the collapsing of the ispilateral lung where the lesion was done?

it is like a ball with a hole, you have your finger on it, so every time when it expands, the air can't get out. so it will get bigger and bigger, u know the rest. so everything else inside the ball will be pressed hard. the high pressure keeps them small.

the air trapping in tension pneumothorax is the same as how air is trapped when we pump air in our car tire.. it can go in but cant come out.. this air compresses the underlying lung.. so it collapses..
