Hi all,
I got my score card today, I got 99/248. I would like to thank this forum for providing great opportunity to rectify my doubts and to expose my weaknesses. I am very thankful to sarika, aashi,robin,anjushree, magaziner, fox, doc clotaire,guptashugosh, md cooper, chenmar etc for their active participation and encouragement. I think robin, aashi and many will surely get very very good score, there is no doubt about that but the thing is they have to stay cool and make sure that they can concentrate throughout 9 hrs. thank you all and good luck.

I have prepared for 4 months for ck, with serious preperation for 3 months. i am doing my masters in usa and have prepared for ck simultaneously, i used to read for 5 hrs a day on average for initial 3 months and in final last month i used to read 8 to 9 hrs a day.
i have followed kaplan, uw, symptomatology and some systems in harrison. i have taken nbme exam one month before my actual exam and i got 560 in form 2.
i think kaplan is pretty enough for all topics in ck except for psychiatry and some topics in obstretics. i feel that it would be better to go through any standard text book of internal medicine, especially regarding the approach to the patient, in that sense harrison is very useful if you just go through approach and tables in differential diagnosis. i think kaplan is absolutely enough for surgery and paediatrics, just stick to kaplan but uw acts as good supplement for every subject. prepare a good uw notes on your own and go through that.
i have read kaplan material for 3 to 4 times, uw 2 times, i got 65 on average in uw. first aid is a very good supplement.
the most important thing is go through the discussions in the forums of this site, which will be very useful.
i think it would be better if we go through some other book for psychiatry rather than kaplan.
the most important thing in exam is we need to stay cool, we must be in a position to concentrate for 9 hrs, dont get panic by looking at long questions, - most of those questioins are easy compared to others, the other thing is just before clicking your option - please make sure that other options are absolutely ruled out and just think about other options for few seconds before clicking your final answer.
time management is important, dont get carried away by weird questions, if you are not able to come to any sort of conclusion within 1 min then simply mark that question and go to other one.
read well, be confident and positive, we all deserve good scores so we do get good scores, good luck.
