Transitional is one year Internship that you have the opportunity to rotate in different wards. Yes, you have to apply through ERAS and NRMP. My concern is that if I couldn't get a prelim for neuro, is it possible to look also for transitional year and then spend 8 months on internal medicine floor to fullfill the ANA ( American Neurology Academy)?

I am not sure, but I know that Mayo in FL combines neuro with a transitional year. However getting a transitional year position is traditionally more difficult (even more difficult) than getting an IM prelim.... and more expensive. I applied for the Mayo trans year because I applied to their neuro program and just that one spot cost me $60.00... What a rip off! And they did not even take the time to reject me... Anyways, it besides the point. I am sorry. I keep my fingers crossed for you Amirhossein! Don't worry you will do very well!!!
