i read in another forum asking this question,is it possible to convert from B1 to H1B for a volunteer research job , i mean if the professor accepts to sponsor and if one hires the lawyer , can this be done>????is it neccessary research for the research be in h1b cap or whatever??bbb,experts and anybody i welcome ur suggestion.

you cannot get H-1B on voluntary research ....if you want then your professor has to sponsor you, then file labor certification and pay you a salary each month...without a salary you cannot get H-1B
