Hi...Took my exam yesterday..I don't want to repeat the same sayings about the exam-It is doable!
Few Important Points (Might be useful for you)
*In the real exam,I didn't have time to think as I would do in my practice exams...With the tension and the time running by,you will definitely be forced to tske the answer which stroke your mind the first.. So,be thorough with the basic points..
*Lot of CT'S,MRI'S..I think it would be better if you could see some important MRI's such as MRI of shoulder joint,knee joint...I got lots and lots of COPD questions..So,be well prepared in RS.
*Adjust your time very well..I faulted in that...Some questions are pretty straight forward...So don't waste time on thinking "Whether this could be the answer?Why does USMLE gives you such a simple question?"...Just pick your answer and move.
Will write a detailed one once I get my scores...I have to thank clozapine and drplacebo for their explanations given in one of the discussion..I got few questions on what we discussed such as the delusional disorder and the number of ATP's in fatty acid oxidation.

I did not have any video clips questions..Only slides...As many felt in these forums,some questions could be sensed out from question stem but few you must have atleast a sense of what is the picture talking about...
One more important information-Take care that you sleep very well before the exam..That will definitely boost you up!
It is really a tiring exam.

Regarding MRI,CT's..I don't think it is necessary for you to go through each and every image....Be familiar with normal structures..netanatomy.com have few MRI pictures...or else..just type in google images-MRI of shoulder joint,knee joint,brain(all views) ...I think these 3 would definitely be a reasonable preparation..
Exam is not going to be harder as USMLE World questions...except a few.Don't ever be unhappy about your performance in usmle world...But,it is definitely a good learning tool...Exam format is almost similar to usmle world.

i hav my exam in a month,and not doing uw.wat do u think will work best at this time, do tell
i am jst getting abt an average of 37 to 39 in kaplan q bank..
plz do tell how doez kaplan relate to tthe real exam??

Thanx..babydoc...It is good that you have finished it..you will definitely do well..I realy love those discussions with anky,drplacebo,you ,drplacebo,me007...Hope this continues with step 2 also..(No matter what happens to our score )......
Hi sukhs....I thought kapest and kap qbook is a nice tool to finish after single reading..It is somewhat similar..but the real exam is definitely closer to Usmle World...Don't worry about your scores in practice exam...Just try to learn each and everything possible from the questions which you got wrong...I think that will definitely make a big difference if you go through that again and again..
