ATII does not reabsorb Na, it stimulates adrenal cortex --> Aldosterone secreted--> Na reabsorbtion increased in kidneys

Nope it also does affect the Renal Tubules which lead to direct effect of Na reabsorption. i have read it somewhere but cant seem recall the exact book.

found it....how come it was not in notes or lectures? Angiotensin II has a direct effect on the proximal tubules to increase Na+ resorption. Although it slightly inhibits glomerular filtration by indirectly (through sympathetic effects) and directly stimulating mesangial cell constriction, its overall effect is to increase the glomerular filtration rate by increasing the renal perfusion pressure via efferent renal arteriole constriction.

i found in Kaplan Q explanation that site for this AT11 induced Na reabs is distal tubule, in BRS physio - proximal. This AT11 action is important bcs it is primary fast mechanism to control low blood pressure So, BRS + wikipedia = proximal?

i was absolutelsy sure that increased Na reabsorbtion is due to increased Aldo stimulation by ATII. as it appeares, it is a combined effect as for KQB - i've experienced very odd explanations, like increased level of ceruloplasmin in Wilsons... so, i would stick to BRS and Wiki

It was in kaplan physio q-bank...I just did the renal qs, came here to test my knwledge. Yes , it acts on proximal tubule
