it says when hypercalcemia is because of malignancy we choose bisphosphonates over normal saline!
but in another question it choose normal saile over bisphosphonated at the presence of malignancy! So what do you think?

In mild hypercalcemia we give Bisphosphonates like pamdronate

In severe hypercalcemia with CNS symptoms like encephelopathy we start wih normal saline & then furosemide.

it depends on blood volium and calcium level.
in sever hypercalcemia , the patient is dehydrated and hypovolemic due to vomiting and polyuria, so u have to give the patient normal saline to correct this hypovolemia.

in mild hypocalcemia with no hypovolemia give pamidronate .
