i measn if i join f.m this year is this possible for me to switch to I.M next year....is this illegal....cz one of my frd told me that u can switch ur program once its not against the aggremant ....plz help me regarding this...

most of fm programs wont encourage it ,infact if pd finds it he wont give u lor and now days most of the progs expect a lor from pd if u r al;ready in residency its a roo risky gamble to take on

this is just my opinion if any experts can throw some more light on this grey area it would be great

ii am confuse cz my score in step 1 isi 98 and step 2, 99,2005 grad, was kinndda late this year, some say wait for next match while some say grab this postion and swithch next year, thats why i am so confuse.Any expert can throw lite on this mportant matter...plz

To be honest, what you are suggesting is totally illadvised, apart from being unethical.

I know a person who tried to do that and unfortunately is out in the cold this year, with no program ready to look at him. Its much more a complex issue than it seems - and you wont be able to repeat your intern year anyway, since the federal grant for your 1st year will already be used up by the time you apply next year.

Personally, I think this is not a thing to pursue at all, even if one had a gauranteed spot for the next year, just because of the ethical implications. But thats just my personal, biased, non-objective point of view...
