Mind wandering ...Day dreaming....constant Obssesion with USMLE Forums, My son (He thinks im his buddy instead of mom and we shouold play with cars all day) One advice though, I have noticed if i dont close my books, keep the table lamp ON even when im not studying, it gets me back to books earlier than otherwise!

Hey janaki...dont worry...your child will bring you luck for sure.So play with him a little of bit and try to direct him to things that he likes most and can be busy with them.try to use opperent conditioning(Skinner)otherwise good luck.

hi guys feeling lazy, not feeling like openin the book ,taking big breaks these are just ways to procrastinate.i actually read this somewhere people tend to put things away delay it for tomorrow because things are not going the way they planned .so start making very small goals when i say small really small .and once accomplished that very small goal add one more small one.it actually works.so instead of saying i am going to study for 10 hours today say 2 hours and then add 1 more and then 30minutes so on .

cooking for my husband before he gets back from work. I wake up late and when I am just in the mood to do some serious studying and focusing,,, i have to leave my book to cook in the kitchen. Then there's the mess I have to clean up afterwards..

i agree with janaki setting realistic goals helps.it prevents fustrations that can really put u down. my main problrem is consistency.today i get to the library at 10am tomorrow 1pm and so and so forth.i hate it.but just can't get myself to be consistent.any advice please.

So there are more that feel my pain..join the club! My husband works two full time jobs since I am 9 months pregnant and studying. So I can under no circumstance ask him to do more that vacuum on the weekend. Now when the baby comes..things are gonna get a bit more busy around here..so girls.. I am gonna start pulling my hair off. Mona..i tried cooking alternate days ..sometimes it works and sometimes he will be like "AGAIN"??? This pregnancy is stressing me out so much..that I confess to sleeping extra. I wake up at 12 noon and am up until 2 or 3 am. I agree that there is more silence and not much housework to do late at night... but then hubby wants me to wake up at 10 am on weeksends bec he is in the mood for pancakes!! I welcome any solution, esp. from moms that know what is like to study with a newborn. dido

OOOOOOOOOOOK BABIEESSSSS LISTEN TO ME I was exactly like u said...cookin cleanin playing with my sweetest boy (3.5 yrs of age ) so I was like cravin for 1.5 yrs with nothing in hand ! And I decided that this does not work and found out that the only sanction on me would be to get the exam day so I applied and my exam is in June...and u know wut !! me the desperate housewife ...the organising friend...the devoted mother...the loving wife ...I turned out to be an USMLE freak !!!! and im sooo sorry to find out that if Ive been studyin like this b4 for only 6-7 months I would exactly make over 90 !! now we eat salad macaroni sandwiches omlette or just order...no friend meetings...no family gatherings...now I go to a library bc then I dont see how dirty my house is and stay there for 8 hrs and come back to clean when Im wasted out... my baby goes to the kindergarden where hes really happy...i reward myself with this forum only if I study real hard for 3 hrs ! and my darling has to wait 4m till June dont u think its worth it ! this stuff will determine wut we will be doin the rest of our lives !! c'mon !! good luck ! PS: sooowieeee husbands loool

feyza..thx for the story .. hopefully things won't be as bad. I thought to bring the baby in the bassinet into the room where I study and just breastfeed him when he gets hungry. But i do worry about the nights when he' s gonna wake me up. I guess I'll have to wait and see. dido
