i have given my ck on feb 2nd. one thing i can say is - ck exam is not easy, its tougher than step one. the difficult part with the exam is you need to pay concentration for continuous 9 hrs and shifting the thinking of your brain to different directions throughout that period. as per my experience i felt questions from psychiatry as most difficult and some questions from medicine are very vague. even though the questions look easy, you dont find the answer among the options given. kaplan is enough except for psychiatry and some part of obstretics. the other thing is time management - when i took step one, i used to ccomplete each block on average of 45 to 50 min, some blocks even earlier except one block for which i took 58 min to complete. but in ck - i completed each block on average of 55 to 57 min, in one block at one moment, 18 bits were left to me with 8 more min to go to complete that block, i had no clue - then i read the questions fastly and decided answers even faster and was able to complete the block with one minute to spare. in another block - i had just 15 seconds left by the time i completed all the questions. i think we need not panic by looking at long questions, i felt most of those questions as a bit easier than questions of usual length. i will add some more details of my exam experience - but at the present moment, i am very tense about the result and a depressed, i scored 99 in step one but now i am not confident of getting good score in ck.

Hi...thanks for sharring your experience..and thanks to telling that exam is wired and tougher BUT doable...I read most of the experiences which all the time did not courage me to give my exam but in the end I always tell my self that I have to give this exam no matter how much difficult it is..and that why I am goign through...So my request for all exam takers is ..do post ur experiences BUT with the courage that WE CAN DO IT but with work hard... My question...U said kaplan is sufficient..but when I am doing UW i faced lots of new informations for which I am making notes for last month prep ..do u think the matterial in UW is enough for CK ..or I need to read other books too... U wrote that the lenghty qs are little bit easy as compared to normal length qs..while doing UW I feel the same thing that the lenghty qs are ended up with easy ans only thing is that we almost forget the information in the end which wast our time...is that so in ue exam... thanks for ur participation...and GOOD LUCK for ur result..as I feel (after reading post exam experiences) that many ppl how face hard exam ended up with Very high scores and I wish the same for you

GL prathapdoctor, as I can see your exam experience was less traumatizing than mine... Wish you another 99, cause as I have seen in the IM forum you were very well prepared for this test..

to prathapdoctor: If you really prepared well, you can get your dream score. I also had doubts that I'd get a 99 after the exam, and was prepared to be disappointed, but it turned out just right for me. Wish you the same. It's tough but doable. Key is hard work and good preparation.

thank you all for encouragement, i wish you all the same. in the exam i got questions from similar topics repeatedly, i got around 6 to 7 questions from alzheimers disease, 5 to 6 questions on acute and chronic pancreatitis, lot of questions on gall bladder, i got 3 ECG s, but among them i had no clue except one. i think most of the questions are like common sense questions and you dont find such type of questions in any Q bank. i would suggest all who are going to take the exam - please dont put the answer straight away - just before clicking your option, just think about other options for 5 to 10 seconds, rule about those options then only click your answer. because i changed my options by thinking like that for 8 to 10 questions, i am sure that i would have gone wrong if i put all those questions straight away. anyway, the exam is not going to be easy, be prepared for that, dont go in a mood lilke - i am going to put correct answers to almost all questions, we will not be having any sort of clue for many questions.good luck to all, pray for me.
