these days it is called developmental dysplasia of hip.DDH. ultrasound is indeed the investigation and x-RAY is useless. DDH is more common in breech deliveries and females and more on left side. this is noticed when there are asymmetrical creases on thighs of a newborn. treatment is PAWLICK brace/cast
