Hi Apruva,
I need a favour from u.I m having hard time in ranking these programs.Plz help me to rank in order of better future oppurtuinites.I am currently in NY but ready to move for a better program. I have good scores & no visa issue I hope I would get a sincere opinion from u,as u always do.
lenox hill
longisland college hospital
nassau
st vincent Staten Island
Newark Beth Israel
Jersey shore
Cook County
Ny methodist
Brookdale
mary immaculate

Bronx lebanon.

lennox hill rocks for cardio
cook county is the strongest program on ur list
jersey shore is goin to get new fships
beth isarel newark has fships but i havent heard good things baout it
coney island has and takes its own for cardio
bronx leb wil work u to the bone
nassau is a good program with decent fhsip placement and benign program dominated by north indians
st vincent staten island is good
lich and ny methodist are good with in house fships
brookdale has nephro but is bad
i really cant rank these for u. but cook and lennox hill stand out i feel..

for me westchester is the first
then suny and stonybrook
followed by nyu downtown. others you can do what ever u want with them in terms or where u want to live what u want to do later in ur life.

nyu downtown is not that gr8 a program. i wud rank it pretty low. u haev a LOT of calls. be relaxed and gl..
of ur 4 unis - undmj newark is the weakest. agree with dev..
mentioned about lincoln in some other thread.
dont know about ur other programs bcoz obviously ur a gc and i havent applied to most of ur calls as i need a h1 and dont know much about them..

Thanks alot apruva & Dev. I have good call No but u know match is very unpredictable.According to my observation on interview date Westchester did 'nt give me University like feeling.I wanna know why UMDNJ is low on list & why westchester is better than Stony & downstate.If u have any idea about remaining Community program,I need ur feedback.Thanks a lot for ur time & favour

agreed with ngt and amirhossein.
newark is lower down bcoz of the umdnj scandal althoh they have mentioned it will not affect the residency program - i wudnt take the risk if u have the other solid options..
westchester is high bcoz of the fship scenario. i think they have the best fship to resident ratio amongst the programs. but suny downstate rocks too - and u wudnt go wrong with either one of them. how i wish conrad had looked my way...  thats one rockstar program too..
hi dev - doin good. submitted rol. now waiting game begins. actually liked iviewing much more than this. kinda empty feeling. like the crash after the adrenaline rush..

it was about billing. they were found to have screwed medicare out of millions and a few indian cardiologists were involved. caused a big uproar and change in the top people. met a very senior manager of newark who was an md mba who applied for a residency and iviewed with me at a couple of programs and he told me some stuff too. he himself wasnt plannin to stay on at newark and was lookin elsewhere..

hey guys I want to emphasize the reason this is called match it is because the program and applicant have to fit with each other. the best program for one might be the worst for applicant. it depends if you are looking for felloship, what type, if they have research, etc. I think this can not be emphasized enough.
apurva, I apreciate you have always had kind and encouraging words. I did my best.
