a 2year boy with normal size, weight and development is brought to the physician because of painful, swollen knee for the past week.he has had 2 episodes of asymptomatic hematuria during the past 6 months.both parents are healthy.he has achived developmental milestones at apropiate age.his height and weight are at the 70th percentile.examination shows bruises and resolving hematomas on both elbows and signs of cutaneouse hemorrhage of a site of a deep splinter.lab studies show Hemoglobin 12g/dl, PTT increased, BT normal, erythrocytes, leukocytes normal.
The most likely diagnostic can be proven by the therapeutic response to a single injection of which of the following
A.factor I
B.factor VIII
c. factor IX
d. folic acid
e.vit K

factor 1X deficiency is hemophilia too.
why not C?

thats exactly my question....maybe its because hemophilia A is more common
