Regarding pain upon eating, how do you distinguish one type from the other? (I.e., does food ease indicate a GU or DU?)

Gastric Ulcer= Increase pain with eating/ Most common(MC) in Blood group A Pt./ and Most likely coz gastric cancer/ & I believe there is less gastric acid secrestion than Duodenal ulcer Duodenal ulcer=patient feel better while eating food, but pain comes back in 2to 3 hrs, so these pt. gets up in the night and also MC in blood group O/ has more acid sceretion...

MAY BE DUE TO DAMAGE OF PARIETAL CELLS AND LESS ACID PRODUCTION

in gastric ulcers : H+ secretion is decreased, gastrin levels are increased. There is no increase in parietal cell mass....therefore acid secretion is less or normal . in D.U : H+ secretion is higher than normal(acts along with pepsin to damage the mucosa) ,gastrin levels in response to meal is higher than normal......> trophic effect....>increased parietal cell mass.........>increased acid secretion.
