Prognosis of Glycogen storage diseases is best in which of the following types:

a. 0
b. 6
c. 2
d. 4
e. 7

I donno what "0" is confused

Type I VonGierke - prognosis not good
Type II Pompe - grave prognosis
Type III Cori - prognosis not good
Type IV Anderson - prognosis grave
Type V McArdle - prognosis not bad, but exercise intolerance and myoglobinuria
Type VI Hers - benign disease
Type VII Tarui - s/s like type V but associate w/ N/V and hemolytic anemia
Type VIII - no idea
Type IX phosphorylase kinase deficiency - Benign

from ur options , I`d go with b. Type VI Hers

i dont know about 0 and 7
but considering the rest of the choices i think type 6 is relatively benign except for mild fasting hypoglycemia.

Type 0 is Def. Glycogen synthase
Type VIII N XI r the same Phosphorylase Kinase def
Type X is Glut 2 transporter def. i.e Faconi - Bickel disease
