Hello friends
I have got 2 queries about neuroanat.. Please take time out to answer them.

1- Does MLE expect us to be able to locate hypothalamic nuclei in a figure?? i mean.. i know functions n connections of hypothalamic nuclei well.. but i find it very difficult to identify them on a figure.

2- Is there any website which has videos showing how to differentiate between chorea, athetosis, choreoathetosis, hemiballismus n dystonias clinically? or cn u post easy, simple ways.. Not the long stretched out descriptive terms seen in texts
Remember.. MLE's gonna have media items soon.

Plz clarifynod
Thank you in advance

Involuntary movements

SLOW :

Athetosis : writhing and sinuous and SLOW
Dystonia: sustained and nearly continuous deviated posture usually in multiple joints

FAST:

Chorea: FAST, jerky, irregular
Hemiballismus: sudden RAPID violent throwing of arm (usually)
Myoclonus: RAPID very brief multifocul involuntary muscle twitch/movement

I googled and found this video of chorea, obviously not meant for our purpose but u can check it out
