Hi Amir,
As you mentioned , it is quiet depressing not being able to get to the residency in Canada it happened to many of my friends and happened to me last year , they don't have many position (just 2) to offer for neurology and it is highly competetive,. amirhossein I was wondering if I can talk to you or emial you about what have you done so far and if yo uhave any advise for me since you are also involve in neurology residency.

Does anybody know more about nbme?what time is the best time to take it and what are the differences between nbme 1,2,3,...?

first NBME 4, then NBME 1 are most similar to actual exam.

NBME are very similar tests to the actual exam..but they are not learning material...only good for evaluation so that you could postpone your exam in case there is major weakness in a particular subject..so the best time would be 2 3 weeks prior to the adjusted time so that it's possible to postpone...
I don't know about the order but some say form 2 or 4 are difficult some say 3...whatever they are there is no answer to the test.it only gives you a mark..you will know where you're standing..

another q.
I did some qs from kaplan q book...but it is very disapointing...48%-55%
What do you think?are the q book qs much easear then usmle?Am i doing so bad on these qs ?(this was my first time to do some real qs ).Do you think doing more qs from uw would increase my score?

doing more q's from anywhere is going to increase your score no matter what..and UW is definitely one of the best..
and the center is individual,you and your destiny defining computer!!...read the exam experiences...some have described it perfectly

do not be disapointed . kaplan q book is not very hard , but it is hard , go several times with all the explanations
exam room is a room with several desks and computers all in the same room , but you will be one on each desk , like in libraries , you wont be distracted,

hi guys sorry for the long lag.thanks hadieh for asking.
i took CS last week and since then i didn't get any time to come online, nor did i find any internet Cafe's neither in philadelphia nor in new york. what is wrong with this country? everything is upside down. here is supposed to be the land of technology but....
anyway, it was was a big challenge for me to come to the US for the first time with having no one here and the exam on top of it!!
the exam, well i am not sure about it yet. it was ok, i guess but then again, it is too soon to say anything. i promise i will keep you updated on the results and then i can talk with more confidence.

Hello friends,
I am an Iranian doctor and I am in U.S. now. I graduated from Iran two years ago and I want to take USMLE exams. At the moment, I have my medicine diploma and the transcripts officially. But I don’t know how should I register for the Step 1 test? Especially, I did not understand if the ecfmg certified my degree with the university? I am not sure if my Iranian university responses them or not? IS it sufficient to send ECFMG my original diploma and its official translation or not?
I would really appreciate your attention and kindness. I impatiently look forward to your comments.

Fereshte Jan,as far as I remember you should register online at ecfmg.org, get all the forms, fill them, and it will exactly tell you what you need to send for them,(pictures, notarized identification form,...) when you send your diploma, they will communicate with your university through one of the forms you have filled and universities will respond to them, it usually takes a few months (at least for me) but they responded and meanwhile you don't have to wait for their response, you can schedule your test and start your preparation. Salam Fereshteh jan: To register for step1, you can go to: www.usmle.org, but it is better to register when you are ready. And proof of your diploma with your university, it is not a big deal, donot worry about that.

well as I study in m rotations I do read the references regarding USMLE..like blue prints...but step 1 is my main concern...I think I'm gonna do it after graduation or by the time I'm fed up with my research hassle or have published at least 4 articles since that is my main priority right now...but will keep myself as updated as possible....
