hi hediye
I started to read for usmle from 6 months ago ,and i registered for step 1 for july31 ,but because i am a new momy with 3 months old fussy baby it was very hard to take the exam that day ,and i changed it to november 30.I hope i can pass it with a good score ,althogh i don't have enough time because of the baby but i am so hopefull and I TRY MY BEST.You can find that the guys here will help you so much as they do to me.They give me selfconfidence in my way..thanks all of you...
try to use their experience,it will help you so much...

Thank you so much Shohreh for your kind reply. As you might have seen in the forum, there were some new moms like you ( eg; sss) that they passed their step 1 with 90+ scores. I wish that it will happen for you too.

Welcome Hedieh,
Some hints that have to be reviewed for all of us.
For all people who are taking step 1,2ck, just study hard. Don't overestimate your abilities and don't underestimate the exams. They are getting more difficult and complicated. Finish one round and then start doing questions, especially Kaplan or www.usmleworld.com.
For Step 2CS, it is not an easy exam. It is a technical exam. There were so many IMGs and esp Iranian who failed the exams, and had to take it again, since the changed the scoring system in June 2006. Practice a lot, the Doctor-patient interaction here in US is very different. Consider yourself as a health provider that has to give patient information, respect. These are two key factors to pass the exam.
There are new regulations about visa esp for B1/B2, keep yourself updated by log in frequently at www.uscis.gov or www.dhs.gov.

thanks for the tip amir and furthermore they have raised the pass threshold for 2CS recently from July15, 2007. God help me!!

Dragonfly I gave my CS kind of recently, (3 months ago), I would say just be very confident and respectful in rooms, speak clearly, look into patients eyes (just act the same way you act with real patients), and always end the conversation properly, pams hugs foss for all patients, and you are done. everybody forgets some details for every case I guess, the key is to give a good impression. And my personal experience is that the staff is really friendly. Good luck.

thanks alot khorshid for the info. which center did you take it in? mine is in philly. they say SPs are not as foreign-friendly in there as other centers. is that right?

I took it in phily too, and I can say except one the rest were really ok, of course there are two sets of sps, so I don't know about the other group, but the only one which was not friendly was my first encounter, and even she replied fully to all qs.

Hi every body
I need your advices again,as you know my exam is on november 30th and i want to do usmleworld 50-100 qs a day but i don't know when to start it?
what are nbme 1-2-3-...?I read so many posts about nbme that it is the best predictor of the usmle score?Is that right?Tell me more about these qs..I don't have any idea about it..Are they realy from the bank of usmle qs (i mean the real exam qs)?When is the best time to do nbme?
