hi every body
I have some qs about ecfmg certification...ecfmg sent my diploma to my university and asked them to verify it..and my university did that and sent back my diploma to ecfmg a week ego..Is ecfmg going to certify my diploma ?how long does it take?Does that mean that they accept my diploma as a medical doctor and after that will they give me a kind of document that means i am a certified foriegn medical doctor that i can use it for applying for some kind of jobs like research in hospitals or somewhere else?Do they equivalent my diploma and give me an equivalency diploma,like master degree in some fields or something like that?Thanks

thanks nazila..but i want to know that after ecfmg recieved my medical diploma from my univercity are they going to certified my diploma befor passing the usmles?and if yes how long i have to wait?

You should pass all the steps.
After that they will give you certification .
I finshed all steps still waiting for my certication.

shohreh this is just a "verification" system not a "qualification". it is simply just one of the steps required for issuing "ECFMG certificate" (ofcourse if STEP 1, 2CK and 2CS are passed). it is not to make your degree equivalant to anything, it is just a way to show you that they have accepted your degree for the purpose of applying for residencies.
and for research, you don't need this. if you find a position, they will accept your degree without all this trouble.

hi
i have a problem,from last week i started to do some qs,but iam not good at them at all,the average is 50% after reading my books,do you think if i do so many qs i can improve it to at least 70-80% in the last 4 months ?does usmle world help me in this?what do you sudjest ?what is the best way ?

you are doing fine. 50% is good. try bringing it up maybe to 60-70%. the kaplan scores are usually much lower than the real exam. because Kaplan questions are a little more tricky. i think kaplan is enough. just don't forget to read the explanations too not just the questions. especially for those questions that you got wrong.
remember, the purpose of these tests is to teach you and maybe less importantly to test you. try to learn from the questions and get used to the style and to reading fast.

study hard , donot give up, you will get to 80% or more just based on your effort not time. use your time wise and usmle exams are completly doable

Hi again every body
I read some of the usmle ebooks in one of the us university ,do you have any idea about these ebooks?
I did their qs and read their answers (again around 53%-54%)but i don't know if they are helpfull or not?Are they the same as real exam or there are many differesces between these and mle?Do you think it is better to stop reading them or continue tham?

shohreh: pardon me but please and please for the love of God. don't do this. jumping from one branch to another just takes your time and brings down your self confidence. there are 1000 other MLE sources and some have questions even if harrison wanted, couldn't answer.
my point is to my experience and others, Kaplan is the most standard source and the other ones will just confuse you. this happened to me too. it is somtimes tempting to study from another better-looking source but trust me, it is not. Time is GOLD, so don't throw it on second-class sources.
we all are sure, you will do great. just keep it on

I started to read for usmle from 6 months ago ,and i registered for step 1 for july31 ,but because i am a new momy with 3 months old fussy baby it was very hard to take the exam that day ,and i changed it to november 30.I hope i can pass it with a good score ,althogh i don't have enough time because of the baby but i am so hopefull and I TRY MY BEST.You can find that the guys here will help you so much as they do to me.They give me selfconfidence in my way..thanks all of you...
try to use their experience,it will help you so much...
