hey buddies... I got a question which is unrelated to myself but you might have a clue... do we have such thing as clerkship or observation for residents?like can Iranian residents come to US for something like a clerkship or observation and then go back?do we have a term for that?

Nima, There is no difference between Iranian residennts and routine gradutes. As long as you meet the program requirements for the course you don't have any problem.

amir: thanks for asking. well i am going to call them in 2 days. i'll keep you posted on it. avesta: you're 100% welcome. if you have more questions, we will be happy to help. nima: as far as i know, resident or non-resident as long as you are a graduate, and if you are lucky enough to find them, you CAN do either an "observership" or "externship". i never heard of a special program for residents.

Hey friends, Does anyone of you know if we can get a dean's letter or MSPE or anything close to that from our universities? I graduated from Shaheed beheshti. And if so what should we ask for? (I mean what is the farsi equivalent?)

we don't have a dean's letter...I don't even know my dean let alone he knows me!!!they should sign that you have a good command of english and in good level as a student...they don't sign such thing..unless you find some connections and give him the letter yourself. He should just sign it without reading it...

I know it is harder than internal and FM, more competative, but I am not sure about scores.

As far as I know transitional is a pgy-1 for those who want to go to fields like derm, ophthalmol, neuro...it is easier than internal or surgery...so many prefer to do that rather than harder rotations of internal, as for prelim I'm not sure, it's kind of the same thing, but it's like prelim in internal, or in surgery, and I think the prelim in internal for example has the same level of hardship and rotations as first year intern of internal. or the same for surgery. not sure though.

However my score was not as much i wanted.Try to get used to sit in front of computer and do test 7 hours a day prior to exam .I answered some of Qs while i was reallytired.Good Luck
