Hi everybody:
this is my first post. I have 84/92/pass (second attempt)/ registered/ 6 months observership/ 3 US LORs/ assistant professor at home country for 2 years
applied to almost 50,
rejected from; rush./ uni.. of Florida/ wayn state/ UPMC/ Kentucky/UMDNJ-NJMS in anesthesia
rejected form 2 FM and 4 IM, as well.
no IVs
no answer from the other ones (other 45 one), most of them applied in early/mid/ late sept.
is that possible that they've ignored my application? or they usually answer to all rejected applicants

Hi every body
I am currently preparing for Step 2 .I think that it will take more than what i expected because after four mounth i dont feel reay.I haven't registered for it yet.I would be pleased if anyone tell me weather is there any difference between different period in difficulty.I am gonna to schedule my exam in December-Febury.THANK YOU

i have just one month to my exam and still doing uw,but my score is still around 45-50%...
what should i do,i am not sure i can pass tha exam

hey shahriar. I wonder if the programs have allergy to Iranians?!
I passed steps with 92/228, 96/238, ECFMG certified, GC holder.
have only 3 IVs and 5 rejections.
I applied to 58 programs late september all in psychiatry.
people with way less scores and need visa from other countries got 7-8 IVs....
I'm just wondering!

i am doing uw but my scores are not good (40-60%) mostely 45-50%...do you think i can pass with these scores in uw?and with these scores what score do i have to expect in my exam?
i am so worried and nervous and i have just one month to my exam

my score was 59% in UW
it gives average score, so what you mean by 40-60%? there must be a single average one!
but remember I studied for 3 more months after finishing UW.
so I can not predict yours.
but please aim for high scores, because if you rush then you will be stuck in matching process.

hi
i downloaded nbme forms with its answers,but i don't know how to calculate my score and compare it with usmle scores?
what percent of the nbme forms qs do i have to answer correctly to get passing score in usmle(50% or 60% or what?)?

i'm new here but very excited to see iranian here,think it's a very useful site,i'm mehre 79 from tehran university and will be graduated in 5 months,started 2 ck 1 months ago but have very little tim to study,wondering what i should do?moonlight calls?cause i'm very tired after hospital,please help me

There are moms, researchers, interns, surgeons, 2nd year med students, over 10 year grads, people living in US working hard for living AND studying at the same time!!!!! our case as interns in never as bad....

you can only attend as an extern when you have graduated from med school.it needs connection+connection. you have to know people in the faculty.(or else it would be very difficult to find one, yet possible). you should be ECFMG certified since you would be working as a real doctor (which means passing step 1, CK,CS). some also require TOEFL. there are courses of 4-12 weeks or longer depending on programs..you work as a doctor in charge of patients.it's the best for application.but they are difficult to find.you should go to hospital websites and ask for them.they are usually filled the very moment they are announced...

hey
thank you a lot nima,so it means i have a long way to step in the way of externship,would rather not to think about it now,so if i want to enter a residency programe just with 1 and 2 ck i won't be able to get externship course?bad just because i wnated to try that,i passes toefl with 600 three years ago ,but heard that it's not anymore needed due to cs presentation

Shohreh joon, VERY difficult question!! there are many people speculation the correlation, but they can never be accurate enough to rely on.you can find many formulas on this forum for correlation of Qbank/Qbook/NBME/UW.... with actual exam.
but the thing that's unanimously agreed on is the fact you shouldn't rely on these grades and marks.You should just do your best and leave the rest to God.evaluate your score if there are any major weakness, postpone the exam and try to improve that field. What good would there be if some one tell you like 45% is enough for you to pass...what if you aren't on the mood on the exam?what if you're ultra alert on the exam??!! It really makes no difference...Focus and Concentrate...This is what makes a difference...

i think you should just relax and cross the bridge when you rech it,NBME is just an exame in which your conditions may be very different from your real usmle test,you can't say how much can say definitly you are passed,but you can have an estimation about how much you ready when you are really ready,so just study and if needed try to elongate yur preparation time,
you will pass cause all iranian have a good taste for 99,believe me

just rely upon your knowledge and know best results are behind most confidence,you'll get thorogh it directly ,even though i'm still in the start of way and there are a lot of steps i think we can crush the step just cause we havehad the chance o step in it,by the way does anybody know the sites in which i can download uw or kaplan q bank for free,
