welcome to step2 forum, lots of people follow kaplan .usmlew is a must as a learning tool as there are many questions from which u learn how to tackle a problem. step2 is interesting but we need to put in effort consistently as when we tend to loose track then we forget and the cycle of staring over continues. good luck for step1 result. are u done with step 2 cs? keep a time frame and fix a date after u feel comfortable. we need to read ,red and only when we constantly are in touch we can finish in the time. it is vast unlike step1 and so basically hard and consistent effort is needed. good luck bgg by the way i am also img 91 graduate ,was a stay home mom for kids but done with step1 and cs dont know step2 is dragging but will finish. u can have a study partner if that helps u.gl bgg

i came here looking for the exact same information. i wrote and passed my step 1, so it's on to step 2 ck. i wonder what the best books are for preparing. i see lots of people mention kaplan and their qbank as well as usmleworld. i wonder of the FA for step 2 is just as good as the one for step 1. i guess, all you out there who took this step and passed would know best about this...

Kaplan is very good. If you don't have IM background, suggest Step Up medicine or another more detailed text (if want a really great score) Since finished Step 1 already, don't need other books (Pathophysio is about 10 to 15% of CK and you've studied it for Step 1, no need to repeat). UW very, very important as a learning tool. Not to simulate actual exam conditions. Kaplan QBank better for simulation.

Thanks for the info guys. Is NMS text book of medicine good for IM? i am not from IM background..so getting into all that clinical stuff wd be difficult. Also for all other subjects is Kaplan enough? Also what time frame wd u suggest? Is FA the gold standard here also just like it was in Step I? Thanks
