The COX-2 inhibitor rofecoxib (VIOXX) was taken of the market a couple years ago. So will they still have questions about it in the exam? For example for the treatment of RA? This class of drugs are good for patients who have RA and history of GI bleed because they have fewer side effects. They are also good for patients with increased risk factors (elderly, and other comorbid conditions)... SO my question is can we answer celecoxib (instead of rofecoxib) for this purpose? What do you all think?

If it was taken off the market and has no current indications we are not responsible for it. As far as I know celecoxib is still on the market and is fair game.

it's highly unlikely they will put rofecoxib as an answer in the step cause it's out of the market.
