well my school consist of 5 years of medical education, one year of internship and one year of social service, so im allowed to do 4th year electives during my internship, i.e. my 6th year And they have been rejecting me because either they dont accept IMS or their students fill all the positions.

dude, to find which schools accept IMS for electives, here's a link: http://services.aamc.org/eec/students/ Please do write if you got accepted somewhere. Also, applications for electives aren't done by sending emails to schools, but by properly applying to the registrar's office of each school and by respecting all their conditions...

yes manu i know how youre suppoused to apply but i emailed them and asked them when and where to send the paperwork and they ALways reply me the same: puertorico: Saludos, lamentablemente solo aceptamos estudiantes de escuela de medicina acreditadas. Chicago: We do not offer those rotations to visiting students because our students have priority for those rotations. San Antonio: Thank you for your interest in the pediatric preceptorship program, The program is only available for medical students who attend one of the Texas medical schools since it is funded by the TX higher edu. We had several requests from US medical students from out of Texas that we also can not offer this elective. I hope you can find the program that offer to out of TEXAS medical schools Dallas: Thank you very much for your interest in UTSW Medical Center. Although we offer many sub-specialties, the sub-internship and ambulatory care rotation are open to our students only, as they are required and are always full. Also, at this time we are reviewing our visiting student program, and are not accepting applications until July 1st. If you are still interested, I would recommend you contact us at that time. Best wishes in your career. Tennessee:thank you so much for your interest in our Pediatric Program. Unfortunately, the Department of Pediatrics does not accept international students. There are other departments at ETSU who do, but you would have to contact them directly. You will be able to find the contact person and numers on the ETSU web site under visiting students. ETC....ETC

please check out ythe link I provided you above. you can do your search limited by geographic region and then you can set the search engine to show you only the schools that don't ask for application fee (for example). in this case you can send applications to a lot of schools being charged only for the mailing tax.

I'm in the same shoes.. I'll do Obs/Gyn and Psychiatry only in my last year... I hven't figure it out what I'll do but I guess I'll apply for the period when I'm supposed to have them finished and tell them these stuff and make sure to make these 2 clerkships first in the last year... Can't think of anything right now... but if you come up with a plan I'd like to hear it Good Luck!
