For me the right answer is C.

This is from medlineplus medical encyclopedia:

If you think your child has nursemaid's elbow:
  • DO NOT move the child without first splinting the arm.
  • DO NOT try to straighten the arm or change its position.

Apply an ice pack to the elbow. Splint the injured arm in the position in which you found it. Keep the area both above and below the injured elbow from moving, including the shoulder and the wrist, if possible.

This is a direct q on nurse maids elbow..UW has many qs on nurse maids elbow and this is HY..and the answer is A..as soon as the arm is supinated after applying suffienct force at the radioulnar joint, the child is pain free and is able to use his arm again..

Dear Eauguin, the info u had copy pasted, advices a parent , wht they shld do when he/she notices a child in a position given in the hx..but the q asks what exactly a doc shld do with such pts,a parent shldnt play doc and try supinating the arm,and thats y they advice parents to immbolise it and take them to the ER and the next neccessary steps will be done by the doc,who is experinced in handling such situations..Pls read the whole article u had submitted..
